It is typically found on dunes, beaches, sunny portions of woodlands and forests, roadsides, and other disturbed areas.

Yucca filamentosa 'Excalibur' prefers full sun to light shade and requires well-drained, average to poor soil. It is drought tolerant, long-lived, suitable for containers and dry soils.
