About Echeveria Snow Fairy
Echeveria Snow Fairy is a charming succulent belonging to the Echeveria genus in the Crassulaceae family. It forms tight, beautiful rosettes with thick, adorable leaves. When thriving, the leaves take on a pink hue while the tips and edges develop a lovely red coloration. This low-maintenance plant adds a touch of beauty and color to any space.
How to care for Echeveria Snow Fairy
Sun: Echeveria Snow Fairy prefers bright light conditions. Place succulent plants where they can receive at least 4-6 hours of sunlight daily. If you're growing it indoors, a south-facing window is usually ideal. Outdoors, it can thrive in a sunny spot with some protection from the intense afternoon sun in hotter climates.
Temperature: Echeveria Snow Fairy prefers average to warm temperatures. While it can withstand temperatures as low as 50°F, this plant thrives at 65-80°F. Ensure the plant is shielded from frost and drastic temperature variations, as extended exposure to cold conditions can harm or even kill the plant. When the weather is very cold, please move to a well-lit place indoors, and when the weather is very hot, please put live succulents in a cool and ventilated place.
Soil: Provide well-draining soil for your Echeveria Snow Fairy. A commercial cactus and succulent mix or a blend of potting soil, perlite, and coarse rocks works well. Ensure the soil has good drainage to prevent waterlogged conditions. The recommended proportion is 30% particle soil when the succulent is still small; when the succulent grows mature, the proportion of particle soil can be increased to about 70% as bigger succulents prefer better drainage comparatively.
Watering: Water Echeveria Snow Fairy thoroughly but infrequently. To avoid overwatering and potential root rot, it is essential to let the soil dry out completely between each watering. Click here to check if you are overwatering succulents and how to save them!
Propagation: The fast propagation method of Echeveria Snow Fairy is leaf propagation. Gently detach a complete leaf from the mother succulent and let the wound callus for two days before putting it on organic soil. To promote better growth, it is recommended to put the leaves in a warm and bright light (not direct sun) location. To provide basic humidity, you can mist some water around them every 2-3 days. When new roots and buds come out from the callus, cover the roots and start growing the fresh succulents like you treat other succulents.
